This is not something I’d click on my own – but man, I loved the humorous remark by Ralph at the end so much I had to listen to it twice.
Thinking back to his old days of manually digging through scrappy tunnels underground with his friends and being extremely cautious of not getting caught by the Stasi officers, the renowned engineer Ralph said, “Let me say it a lil’ bit like a joke — it was our apprenticeship.”
This podcast specifically reminded me to not take freedom — heck, things for granted, for you will forget how it looks like. It instilled the idea of why Mark Zuckerberg insisted on reserving the old buildings at Facebook HQ as a powerful reminder to FB employees that “this could be them one day”. A quote I stumbled upon last night aptly captured the essence of the podcast too:
Everything that you’re going through is preparing you for what you asked for.
