Blueberry Grape Coconut Smoothie

Hello!

Today I blog with a heavy heart, for I have a bad news for my readers.

This blog post will not be a picture loaded one. I was fairly disappointed with how the resolution came out to be and I had to remove most of them 🙁

BUT!

Good news is, I found a new match made in heaven! Both exists in the same colour, with similar shapes and sizes.

Blueberry Grapes Coconut Smoothie!

It’s the royal purple family! Don’t let the picture fool you- the colour in real life was so much more vibrant.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup black seedless grapes (or approx. 12 grapes)
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 ripe banana
125 ml coconut water 
Coconut flesh
Ice cubes

Yields 300ml


I was beyond ecstatic when I saw the colour change in the blender. From lovely lilac to a romantic purple shade, everything seemed so perfect at the moment. The texture was so smooth and the flavour so rich in this potassium-dense smoothie.

Studies have shown that the antioxidant effects of consuming a combination of fruits are more than addictive but synergistic. In this heavenly combination, blueberries, black seedless grapes and bananas are the main sources of potassium that we should consume regularly.

Blueberries: Low in calories, rich in phyto-chemical compounds to help get rid of harmful oxygen-derived free radicals from the body, thereby protecting you against cancers, aging, cell degeneration and infections. Lower and control blood sugar levels. High in potassium (control heart rate and blood pressure), manganese (co-factor for antioxidant enzymes), copper (production of red blood cell), iron (formation of red blood cells) and zinc.

Black grapes: Low glycemic index, giving you better blood sugar balance, insulin regulation and increased insulin sensitivity. Promotes longevity by activating genes related to longevity. High in vitamin B, vitamin K, potassium and manganese.

Bananas: High in potassium and manganese, fibre and energy.
