The weather in Singapore has been scorching hot lately and there hasn’t been a day when I’m not craving for something cold, smooth, rich and creamy. There were so many times I’d stand outside an ice cream shop contemplating on whether I should get one.. My excuses were always “It’s so hot outside, I need something cooling.. and chocolatey.”
Lose the excuses.
Craving for dessert? Here, presenting you an all-clean dessert (very wallet and purse friendly too) chocolate pudding! This time, you’d have to use an ingredient that you would never have thought of using which adds fluffiness,creaminess and of course, protein to the dessert.
Silken tofu! 🙂
|Smooth silken chocolate pudding|
1 pack of silken tofu, drained
3 tbs raw cacao powder/ unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tbs honey
1 tbs vanilla extract
3 tbs chia seed
Serves 4, in small portions.
1. Blend silken tofu, cacao/cocoa powder, honey and vanilla extract in a high speed blender or food processor for 1 min or so until smooth.
2. Pour mixture into a bowl, scoop chia seeds in and stir well.
3. Pour mixture into individual glasses and sprinkle chia seeds or grated chocolates on top to garnish.
4. Serve immediately or chill for few hours in the refrigerator.
NOTE: Scoop them into glasses fast as they curdle very quickly in room temperature.

There you go, something quick, simple and protein-packed to satisfy your sweet tooth 🙂 Doesn’t take much preparation time, and only takes a few minutes to make! I’ve read an article which stated emotional cravings normally lasts for 20 minutes or so. If you are able to ignore it, it’ll be gone within half an hour. Also, chia seeds are naturally high in good fatty acids, hence are effective in curbing unnecessary cravings. HOWEVER, if you’re really craving for one, make these instead!
