Almond Crusted Cinammon French Toast

Hello!

Exams are over and I’m happy to say that I’m officially done with A- Levels! 😀 Which means, it’s time to get back on track and train even harder.

For lunch/pre-workout snack today, I made almond crusted cinnamon french toast 🙂

Almond crusted cinammon french toast with honey topping

Recipe:
Toast
2 eggs
2 slices of multigrain bread (you can substitute this with any bread of your choice, but not refined WHITE BREAD!)
Handful of almonds, chopped/sliced

Filling
Handful of almonds, chopped/sliced
Fruit jam/nut butter

Steps: 
1. Beat 2 eggs in a large bowl.
2. Spread fruit jam/nut butter of your choice and add crushed almonds for extra crunch between 2 slices.
3. Soak sandwich in egg mixture
4. Cover soaked sandwich in a bed of almond slices/crushed almonds.
5. Heat up vegetable oil (I used coconut) and fry at low-medium heat for about 1-2 mins per side.
6. Add a dash of cinnamon powder on each side while frying.
7. Drizzle maple syrup/honey on top!

Play with your fillings. Substitute nut butter with hazelnut spread, berry compote or even yogurt! 🙂
