Spoiler alert: If there’s only one honey-based mask that I could recommend to everyone, this Honey Potion Mask by Farmacy Beauty is IT!
Whether you have normal, dry, combination, or oily skin, this product will be one of the best elixirs out there to serve your skin’s hydration and plumpness. But first…
What is the Honey Potion Mask?
The Farmacy Beauty Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask is a thick cream gel-like mask that warms up when applied and turns from yellow to white on your skin, providing you with a luxurious massaging experience in your very own bathroom. It packs a punch—from their proprietary honey blend for a boost of moisture and antioxidants, glycerin to keep your skin soft and supple, and the essential B vitamins for skin renewal.
Why was I attracted to it?
I’m a fan of all things honey! But fact first: my face was always on the oily-combination side growing up. And since I was young and wasn’t making any money when that happened, I resorted to using pure organic honey from my mom’s kitchen pantry and started slathering it on my face on a weekly basis. It helped nursed my skin back to its original smoothness and provided the necessary moisture to my skin. I’ve been hooked to honey products ever since! And when I heard that the Farmacy Beauty Honey Potion Mask actually heats up and changes texture when applied to your skin, I was on cloud nine and bought it after many days of consideration.
How did I know it worked?
When my skin is problematic (think: dull, bumpy, pimples surfacing or post-acne), I’ll use it for 3 consecutive days for at least 30 minutes or longer. One of the fun parts of using the product: when massaging the mask into your skin, the heat distributes really well to help stimulate your blood flow and work the product into your pores as they open up. It clears my skin really quickly and leaves almost no acne scars by the end of my treatment*! I think of this as the hydrating version of a clay mask. My pores ALWAYS look cleaner, my skin looks brighter, and it’s hard to not stroke my skin for the rest of the week. Over the course of a year, my skin has restored its balance! It is no longer oily, and my skin is steering on the dry-to-normal side these days. And it’s dry because I am probably over-exfoliating it, hehe. But that’s a post for another day.
NOTE: *Results achieved in conjunction with using Very Cherry Bright 15% Vitamin C Serum by Farmacy Beauty.
What made it worth it?
Many of you may frown at the heavy $56 price tag for 117g, but the bottle lasts such a long time! I use it at least 1x/week and have barely made it halfway through my bottle. It’s thick, applies really well, and gives you a really good massaging experience that actually works. In that case, you don’t even need to use much per self-care session.
Will I repurchase?
If your skin loves honey, this honey mask is really is a no-brainer. Think cost per use, and the results that come with it. And YES! A million times yes to repurchasing this miracle in a jar. Granted, it is definitely one of the most expensive skincare product I’ve ever bought for myself, but it is also the one that I reaped the most ROI (return on investment) from.
