When I went back to Malaysia the other day, I couldn’t believe the haze was back to rob the city of its blue sky. It wasn’t nice waking up to the haze at all, blurring the views of our beautiful city and washing off its colours with a heavy spray of grey.
Well, then I suppose a possible connotation of “haze” means increasing intake of water, fruits rich in vitamin C to prevent diseases and strengthen your immune system. This has lead us to the making of Orange Carrot Juice!
To make these great hydrating and refreshing juices, you need…
Raw goodness.
Behind the scenes? Hehe
1 green apple
1/2 large yellow carrot
1 1/2 oranges
1 large cucumber
1×1 inch ginger

Subtle gradient of orange and green 🙂

The addition of ginger really gives a kick of flavour in this combination. The cucumber provides a texture slightly thicker and smoother than other juices, while the carrot and apple complements and balances the sweetness of oranges. When ginger is mixed with citrus like orange or lemon, aids greatly to relieve common cold, cough and sore throat.

Here’s a nutritional breakdown:

Oranges: Excellent source of Vitamin C (powerful antioxidant), Vitamin A (maintain healthy mucus membrane, skin and vision) and Vitamin B.

Yellow Carrots: Rich in beta-carotene and has anti-cancer properties.

Cucumbers: High amount of Vitamin K (builds bone mass), good source of dietary fibre (reduce constipation) and protect against colon cancer.

Gingers: Good source of Vitamin C, magnesium, copper and potassium (controls heart rate and blood pressure).

Green Apples: High amount of Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Vitamin A, good source of fibre (aids in digestion), helps in purifying blood by regulating and stabilizing blood sugar.

It is advisable to use organic apples and carrots. However, use oranges and cucumbers in caution as they may contain large amount of pesticides. If you must, remember to wash the skin and brush them with fruits/vegetable washes to rid as much pesticides and dirt as possible. They don’t make good addition to your healthy juices!

Anyway! I made these with my sister so make sure you check out (& like) her page here too! 🙂

Ingredients used here are all organic.

Juice and enjoy! 🙂
